The CarbonTouch is a folding power wheelchair built on a carbon fibre frame. Drive Medical publish 40.8 lb ready to drive, 36.4 lb with the 4.4 lb battery lifted out, and a 330 lb weight capacity. It folds in seconds with a single touch to 33.3 inches high, 23 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep, and it switches between powered and manual mode so an attendant can push it.
The seat is 20 inches wide and 18 inches deep and sits 19 inches off the floor, in breathable mesh with flip back armrests that adjust for depth. The joystick is removable and mounts on either armrest, with a USB charging port built in. The lithium ion battery is 24 volt 12 Ah and Drive describe it as FAA compliant; it charges through the controller port on the chair or off board with the battery out. A safety belt, anti tippers, a phone holder and a cup holder are standard.
Drive publish a top speed of 6 km/h, a range of up to 17 km, a turning radius of 27.6 inches and 2.4 inches of ground clearance, on 7 inch front and 8 inch rear wheels. Drive warrant the frame for five years, the motor, controller and CPU for one year, the battery for one year and wear parts for six months.
