The WHILL Model R 4-Wheel is a four wheel mobility scooter made for use indoors and out. It turns in a tight space: both front wheels turn fully sideways while the two back wheels drive in opposite directions, for a 38.2 inch turning radius. A steering angle sensor adjusts its speed in turns, and independent suspension with a stabilizer at the back keeps the ride steady over bumps.
It comes apart without tools into a front section, a rear section, the seat, the battery and the basket. WHILL publish it at 125.2 lb with the battery, and the heaviest piece, the front section, at 46.1 lb.
It carries up to 325 lb at up to 8 km/h and travels up to 17.2 km on a charge, depending on terrain, load and temperature. The 269 Wh lithium ion battery charges in about 5 hours on or off the scooter, and WHILL list it as air travel approved. It is rated IPX5 for light rain, with a 17 inch swivel seat, a 15 litre basket under the seat and a USB-C port.
